How to track CEU hours and renewal deadlines
Set the renewal date first, then keep these six details together for every completed course. The first four describe the credit; the last two help reconcile special requirements and find the original proof later.
Course title
Use the title shown on the completion certificate or grade slip.
Provider and CEP number
Record the provider identity, then verify the current CEP status through BreEZe before relying on the course.
Completion date
Use the actual completion date so the course can be checked against the correct renewal period.
Contact hours
Enter the awarded hours exactly; the free tracker totals them without deciding whether a course is eligible.
Special requirement
Mark the implicit-bias course when it applies, and separately verify any advanced-practice requirement.
Proof location
Keep the original certificate or grade slip in a folder you control and use a consistent filename.

How do I track CEU hours and renewal deadlines?

Do I need paid software to track California RN CE?

Does a CE tracker replace the completion certificate?
No. California BRN guidance says to retain certificates or grade slips for four years as proof in case of an audit. A tracker is an index, not the supporting evidence.

How many CE hours does a California RN usually need?
The standard active-license renewal requirement is 30 contact hours every two years. Eligible first renewals have a different rule, including the one-hour implicit-bias requirement.
