California RN · 30-hour CE package proof
Does one 30-hour CE package certificate cover your California RN proof?
The published BRN rules do not prescribe a universal number of certificate files. They do describe what completion proof should contain. Check the aggregate certificate field by field, keep any supporting course records, and follow the exact instructions in an audit notice.
This page cannot decide whether a course or document will be accepted. If the certificate is unclear, incomplete, or inconsistent with the course records, ask the issuing provider for clarification or a completed replacement before relying on it.

One certificate or many?
File count is the wrong first test.
One aggregate certificate
A provider may deliver one package-level completion document. The number of files alone does not prove that every required field, course, or hour is adequately documented.
One certificate per course
Course-level documents make it easier to match titles, dates, hours, and providers to a ledger, but each document still needs to be checked.
Aggregate plus course records
Keep the package certificate together with any course list, transcript, dashboard export, or individual certificates the provider supplied. Supporting records do not cure a missing required field by themselves.
CCR section 1458 field check
Read the certificate, not just the “30.”
- 01
Learner identification
The student name plus the RN license number or another identification number. Do not enter either number into ShiftProof.
- 02
Course title
The title should identify what the completion document covers. A package label alone may leave you needing clarification from the provider.
- 03
Provider details
The approved provider name, address, and provider number. Verify the live provider status separately.
- 04
Completion date
The date must be reconciled to the renewal period or the period named in an audit notice.
- 05
Contact hours
The document should state continuing-education contact hours; do not infer hours from a receipt or time spent online.
- 06
Signature
The instructor, provider, or provider designee signs the completion document.
- 07
Retention statement
The document states that the licensee keeps it for four years after the course concludes.
Course-by-course proof checker
Check the arithmetic and documentation gaps behind each course.
Add only course titles, dates, hours, and yes/no proof details. Do not enter your name, license number, certificate number, or other identifying information.
After the field check
Put the records you already have into one offline index.
The $9 Audit Pack includes an offline cover sheet, certificate index, renewal-day checklist, and reusable CSV templates. It cannot determine course eligibility, repair a provider document, or guarantee BRN acceptance.
Official sources
Use the live BRN rule and the notice you received.
California regulations describe course verification fields and require licensees to keep certificates or grade slips for four years. They do not let ShiftProof decide whether a particular aggregate certificate is sufficient.
One 30-hour California RN CE certificate FAQ
Does the California BRN require exactly 30 separate certificates?
The published BRN rules do not set a universal number of PDF files. They describe proof of course completion and the information a certificate or diploma should contain. An individual audit notice can request specific documents.
Does one certificate showing 30 contact hours guarantee acceptance?
No. A 30-hour total does not by itself establish that the document, provider, course content, timing, or supporting record will be accepted. Check every field and follow the live BRN instruction or audit notice.
What if the certificate says 30 CEUs instead of 30 contact hours?
Do not silently reinterpret the label. California regulations distinguish a CEU from a contact hour. Ask the provider to clarify or correct the completion document.
What if the certificate has no provider number, hours, date, or signature?
Contact the course provider for a completed replacement or clarification. ShiftProof can organize proof you already have, but it cannot add, verify, or recreate provider-issued information.
Can I upload the certificate to ShiftProof for approval?
No. ShiftProof does not accept certificate uploads or approve CE documents. The checker uses only the non-identifying fields and yes/no details you choose to enter in your browser.
