California RN · Online renewal
Prepare once. Then renew in BreEZe.
The California BRN says RN renewal is completed online through BreEZe. Organize the details before signing in so a missing certificate, fingerprint item, or profile issue does not turn payment day into a scavenger hunt.
Before you begin
BreEZe renewal preparation checklist
- 01
Confirm the window
The BRN says online renewal becomes available within 90 days of expiration. A license delinquent by no more than eight years can also use the online route.
- 02
Open the official service
Sign in through BreEZe and use the renewal activity attached to your RN license. Do not use a third-party service that claims to renew for you.
- 03
Resolve profile issues first
Review contact information, name-change needs, fingerprint status, and any account deficiency before relying on a payment receipt.
- 04
Prepare the CE entries
Have the course name, provider name, completion date, contact hours, and supporting certificate available for each entry.
- 05
Answer every renewal item
Complete the status, disclosure, fingerprint, work-location, and survey questions that apply to your account. Read the attestation before agreeing.
- 06
Review, pay, and save proof
Check the application summary, complete payment in BreEZe, save the receipt, then verify the new expiration date through the public license search.
Payment is not the finish line
Verify the renewed public record.
The BRN says an online renewal normally updates within 72 hours when complete. If it does not, review BreEZe for deficiencies and check the public license record rather than assuming the receipt proves active status.
Workflow reviewed August 24, 2026 from California BRN renewal guidance. BreEZe screens can change; follow the current labels in your account.
